In Taiwan they usually say 主修
while 专业 (zhuān yè)
is used in Mainland China
to mean “college major” as a noun.

Very often,
you may find that Taiwan and Mainland China
use different words to refer to the same thing or event.
It is also something occurred in Indonesia,
For example when Indonesian says “Gelas” [English: cup]
Meanwhile Malaysian people say “Cawan” [English: cup]
Both vocabularies was written either in Indonesian Dictionary or Malaysian Dictionary.
