1. 含有兩種以上讀音和意義的字
[有多種讀音的字].

2. 專指同樣的字,
但包含多樣的音讀和意義
Zhuān zhǐ tóng yàng de zì,
dàn bāo hán duō yàng de yīn dú hé yì yì
所謂破音字亦稱為重形字、
多音多義字、歧音字。
Suǒ wèi pò yīn zì yì chēng wéi zhòng xíng zì, duō yīn duō yì zì, qí yīn zì.

炸

1. zhà

to explode [usually has to do with bomb]

炸彈 [炸弹 zhà dàn] = bomb [bom]
炸藥 [炸药 zhà yào] = explosive substance [bahan peledak]
爆炸 [爆炸 bào zhà] = explosion [noun], to explode [verb] – meledak / ledakan
猛炸 [猛炸 měng zhà] = madly to explode [meledak dasyat]

2. zhá

to deep fry

炸糕 [炸糕 zhá gāo] = fried cake [cakwe]
炸丸子 [炸丸子 zhá wánzi] = deep fried meatball, croquettes 
[bakso goreng]
炸雞 [炸鸡 zhá jī] = fried chicken

So, when you want to say ‘friend chicken’, do not pronounce as zhà jī [could be means ‘to explode the chicken’], but zhá jī [fried chicken].

彈

1. Tán

To play [string instrument, like Guitar, piano, violin, etc], elastic material [bouncy, spring, to rebound from an impact], censure [accusation]

彈鋼琴 [弹钢琴 tán gāng qín] = to play piano [bermain piano]
彈性 [弹性 tán xìng] = flexible [things], elasticity [membal, elastis]
反彈回來 [反弹回来 fǎn tán huí lái] = backlash; to rebounce, after having struck an object or surface [balik kembali kepada…]

2. Dàn

Crossball, bullet

子彈 [子弹 zǐ dàn] = bullet [pelor]
彈藥 [弹药 dàn yào] = ammunition, explosive material [mesiu, amunisi, bahan peledak]
彈丸 [弹丸 dàn wán] = pellet [peluru]
炸彈 [炸弹 zhà dàn] = bomb [bom]
